Camping, chasing waterfalls, deep virgin beaches, pebble beach, trekking, rappelling and eating halo-halo at the last town of Cebu province before Dumaguete. Those are the things that we did for the weekend. Who would have thought that we will be travelling the whole south Cebu, for just one weekend… Never in my dreams to travel this far. Though I’ve been to different areas in South (even reached Dumaguete) and just passed by to different towns of Cebu province. I had never dropped by and enjoy the whole areas just for a weekend.

It all started when my lifegroup-officemates (we call our group, The Seekers) planned a trip for us to enjoy the summer. I thought of going to the beach, eat-out and just go to a place for us to enjoy. But that one place in my mind, turned out to different places in South Cebu. One Friday night, we started travelling south from Cebu City. Right after our work around 6pm, we started our journey. Without further explanation, let me take you to the enchanting places and rich in natural resources of Southern Cebu!

We started our travel to Bas Daku, Moalboal. Located in south-western tip of Cebu province, Moalboal is a great province where a wide beach resort located. This public beach is called Bas Daku (Bas Daku is a visayan dialect of wide sand). Literally, it has a wide sand and great for camping. We camped our tent here and spent the rest of the night.

We arrived at Bas Daku around 11:00PM. There were a lot of people ahead of us who camped their tents in Bas Daku since this is a camping area.

Our travel to Moalboal was so smooth. We just enjoyed the music that we played in the van while travelling. We reached Moalboal at 11:00PM. We were so tired so we set-up our tent right after we reached the place. We were so surprised that there were a lot of people who camped in the area as well. Morning came, we were awaken with a voice who was selling “PUSI”. It means puto and sikwati. Puto and sikwati are the traditional delicacies of Filipinos. This is very famous in Moalboal and excellent for a morning snacks/breakfast. It was such a great feeling, sipping your sikwati and eating puto while facing the wide sea. We just cooked our own breakfast since my workmate brought a butane.

After Moalboal, we headed to another town in South and that is the town of Alegria.
Alegria, Cebu is famous for its own Baluarte and Heritage Park. It is a peaceful town who preserves our Filipino traditions and heritage.

We are about to go to Aguinid Falls but we passed by Alegria for a short moment. We had visited their Heritage Park and Baluarte just beside the highway.

Inambakan Falls

After our quick stop, we headed to Inambakan Falls! There was a very short trek in going to Inambakan Falls. Since it is in a mountainous area, cars will be left far from the falls.ย  Right after Inambakan Falls, we headed to our main adventure for this day: The most breathtaking waterfalls, Samboan Falls. This is a 5-level waterfall wherein you can experience kilometers of hiking, rappelling, cliff-diving and real waterfall massage that can relieve stress.

It was a very amazing journey together with The Seekers. We then head to Santander (the last town in Cebu before crossing to Dumaguete)

On our way to Santander, Cebu

And finally, we reached our final destination: The very humble town on the most southern part of Cebu, Santander

We had reached the astonishing beauty of Santander Pebble Beach Resort and a quick snack at Santander Pebble Beach Restaurant

Our journey does not end here. We are in a journey to fight for the truth, always hungry and thirsty for the word of God and always seeking for our saviour’s mercy and love, we are…
